Impamyabigwi wins African Media Cup
Kigali, 5th November 2017, Impamyabigwi team whelmed “Vision 2020” team in a friendly match played on Sunday at Nyamirambo Regional Stadium. Impamyabigwi team is a football team made by media practitioners who attended “Itorero” while “Vision 2020” is a football team made of senior government officials.
Impamyambigwi beat Vision 2020 on penalties after the two teams drew 3-3 goals.
The football match between Journalists and Government leaders was organized by the Media High Council in collaboration with other institutions underpinning media development which include; Rwanda Governance Board (RGB), Rwanda Journalists Association (ARJ) and the self-regulatory body (RMC) and The Association of Journalists (ARJ) with the support of UNDP.
Peacemaker Mbungiramihigo, the Executive Secretary of the Media High Council said that the friendly football match was organized in order to create publicity of the 9th National Media Dialogue and the celebration of Africa day of Information to be held on 7th November 2017 at Kigali Serena Hotel. He added that the friendly match demonstrated the solidarity between Government and the media sector.
Peacemaker congratulated Impamyabigwi team for winning the cup this time according to the last two similar matches between “Vision 2020” and “AJSPOR”, the journalists’ sports team, when the Vision 2020 FC won the cup.
