Media managers committed to brand and market their media outlets

Musanze , from 3-6th April 2017, the Media High Council  in partnership with UNDP has conducted  the training for Media Managers on “Media Business Branding and Marketing”. The training enabled them to promote their business products and services, to build their image, personality and business trust; and provided them with the capacity to deal with the competitive potentials on Media business market. The training held in Musanze District at La Palme Hotel.

Addressing to participants, Peacemaker Mbungiramihigo, the Executive Secretary of the Media High Council said that media managers need skills to market their media outlets to gain money.

“If you do Branding and marketing in a professional way, it will help you to generate income.”

As media managers you must acquire skills related to branding and marketing so that you can generate income to sustain your media houses in a long term. “He said

He added that media managers need to be updated in order to compete with others since the social media is being used globally.

“Learning is everyday life, following the ongoing digital revolution; you need to adapt to technology changes and innovations for your media business transformation purposes.” He said

Dr. Christopher Kayumba, the trainer said that professional content is the foundation of branding and marketing media outlets. He urged media managers to create professional and consistent content in line with their editorial line, to bear values, to work hardly with purpose of making money.  

Participants appreciated the skills acquired during the training and committed to improve their ways of branding and marketing their media houses. The training drew together 45 media managers from different media outlets such as TV, radio, print and online.
